  12. Release notes for this version of the Netscape Navigator are
  13. available online.  After starting Navigator, select "Release
  14. Notes" from the "Help" menu. This will take you to the following

  33. Installation Instructions
  34.  
  35. As always, it's considered good practice to temporarily
  36. disable any virus detection software or non-essential
  37. Extensions or Control Panels prior to installing new
  38. software on your Macintosh.

  40. 1. Download the ".bin" file to your Macintosh.  If you are
  41. using Netscape Navigator to download the software and your machine
  42. is correctly configured, Netscape Navigator will automatically run the
  43. correct program to decode the ".bin" file.  If not, you will
  44. need to use one of the many utilities which can decode MacBinary
  45. files, we recommend something in the StuffIt family of products,
  46. such as "StuffIt Expander¬".

  48. 2. To install Netscape Navigator 4.08 on your Macintosh, open the
  49. "Netscape Navigator¬ 4.08" folder. Open the Netscape Installer folder
  50. and run the Netscape Installer, or simply double-click on the
  51. * Start Here * icon.

  54. and up-to-date information about running Netscape Navigator 4.08.
